CLUB MEMBERSHIP.Membership fees for the Society for 2023 are £5. 00 per annum, renewable in January each year.Admission to club nights is £2.00 for members and £4.00 for non members.

Unless stated otherwise, meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month at Marston’s Social Club, and start at 7.30 pm.

A date shown in italics means the event is in addition to the normal monthly meetings and may start at a different time.

Visitors are welcome - admission £2 per person.

Meetings are held at Marston’s Sports and Social Club, which is on the west side of Shobnall Road (B5234) in Burton. DE14 2BG


There is a free car park next to the Club. However, parking space cannot be guaranteed as other members of Marston's also use it and BRS members often arrive earliy to ensure parking for popular events.

By Rail and foot

Burton-on-Trent can be reached by rail services operated by Cross Country Trains, most of which either start or pass through Derby or Birmingham New Street.

Directions to the Marston's Social Club from Burton Railway Station are as follows: turn left outside the station exit into Borough Road; turn left at the second set of traffic lights into Wellington Road; cross over the road; turn right at the roundabout into Shobnall Road [signed (B5234) Abbots Bromley]; at the next roundabout continue along Shobnall Road (3rd exit); then over the canal bridge, go beyond the brewery buildings on the left; cross over the road; finally turn left into the car park.  The entrance to the club is at the top of the ramp.

By Road

A38 from Lichfield : Take the slip-road for Burton South A5121; right at island; left at mini-roundabout A5121; straight on at next roundabout; turn left at next roundabout signed (B5234) Abbots Bromley; at next roundabout take third exit; then over the bridge, go beyond the brewery entrance and office buildings on your left and turn left into car park. The entrance to the club is at the top of the ramp.

A38 from Derby : Take the slip-road for Burton North A5121 [note that currently there is not a one mile advance warning sign, so in heavy traffic it is advisable to pull into the nearside lane after crossing the River Dove]; continue straight on signed Burton A5121 - then Abbots Bromley (B5234) - and then Lichfield (A38); in one-way section move into right hand lane and turn right at traffic lights at T-junction; left at the next lights (A38) Lichfield; at roundabout turn right, signed (B5234) Abbots Bromley; at next roundabout take third exit; then over the bridge, go beyond the brewery entrance and office buildings on your left and turn left into car park. The entrance to the club is at the top of the ramp.

A511 from Ashby de la Zouch : Follow signs for A511 Burton; over River Trent, straight on following sign for Uttoxeter (A50) until going over railway bridge; at roundabout turn left signed Abbots Bromley (B5234), then Lichfield (A38); turn right at traffic lights at T-junction; left at the next lights (A38) Lichfield; at roundabout turn right signed (B5234) Abbots Bromley; at next roundabout take third exit; then over the bridge, go beyond the brewery entrance and office buildings on your left and turn left into car park. The entrance to the club is at the top of the ramp.

A50 from Uttoxeter : Take slip-road for A511 Burton and follow A511 signs until roundabout in Burton at the junction with A5121; turn right on to A5121 [signed (B5234) Abbots Bromley; then as directions above for A511 from Ashby.

A444 from Nuneaton : Entering Staffordshire, continue along A444 and descend to the bottom of the hill; at roundabout go straight on signed (A38) Lichfield; then follow (A38) signs over the river and through 2 roundabouts, after going over the railway bridge; at roundabout continue straight on signed (B5234) Abbots Bromley; at next roundabout take third exit; then continue over the bridge, go beyond the brewery entrance and office buildings on your left and turn left into car park. The entrance to the club is at the top of the ramp.
